Frequently Asked Questions

Why is wedding photography so expensive?

A photographer's equipment is bought by their own funds: SD cards, lighting, props, camera body and lenses, all take wear and have to eventually be replaced. You're also paying for their experience and their know-how. The photographer will know your wedding date schedule of events better than you will because that's their job, knowing where to be when. You are also paying for them to drive to you, set up, prep work, hustle to get the right shots and the right timing, pack up, drive home, upload, edit, turn to jpg and save, along with getting them to you. Wedding and event photography doesn't get redos or try against. We have to get it right the first time.

What do I wear for my photos?

The objective is to be you. Comfort in both your clothes and your skin shows in your photographs so wear what reflects you and the people in the photos. Avoid distracting phrases or flashy patterns. If you want it to be fun and have that “Aww!” factor, you can wear complementary or similar colors.

Complementary colors are:

  • Yellow and violet.

  • Orange and blue.

  • Red and green.

  • Yellow orange and blue violet.

  • Blue green and red orange.

  • Black/grey and white/cream.

Similar colors are:

  • Blue and Purple

Where should the location of my photos be shot at?

Outdoors usually, in a park, by a stream, lake, or river, a downtown city, sunset, a field of grass, hay, or flowers, a forest or woods, or inside old buildings or places with beautiful architecture. It can even be somewhere close to you both, such as a neighborhood, a school or college, your house, or the place you’re getting married.

Is there a better time than others to take photos?

Yes, there is! Photographers refer to that as “the magic hour”, evenings between 4PM  and 7:30PM.

How long does it take to get my photos back?

Generally up to 60 days, with no special orders.

Why up to 60 days to get my photos back?

I am a private photographer. I choose, edit, and finish all my own photos. This takes time.

How will I receive my photos?

Complimentary download from a safe share site called Pixieset. It is password protected viewing so only you can see your photos. Extra copy on USB or disc is a $10 charge.

Do you do boudoir sessions?

I do not own a studio setting outside the lighting and backdrop cloths so we can work together to figure out where to go for your photos and the feel you want your photos to have.
